 Contract With Philip Henderickse Brouwer

The document below is the amended contract between Johannes Pootman and Philip Henderickse Brouwer, which they signed September 28, 1661.  It was said that Johannes Pootman signed his name in a "beautiful hand", which indicated that he had a good education.

Signatures:

Johannes Pootman and Cornelia Bradt's Children:

The signatures of the Putman children appear below.  the signatures come from a 1715 document that distributed the estate of Catalyntje De Vos and Clase Van Broekhoven.

The sons wrote their names "Pootman" except David who lived then in New Jersey.  David seems to have spelled his name "Paterman".

Arent, Fictoor, and Cornelius lived in or near Schenectady and signed first while the other appear to have signed later. Maria and Catalyntje seems to have lived in the New York City or Brooklyn area of New York at the time while David was living in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
